The STEAMengine project includes Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Bryant University providing certificates of training to company employees to understand design thinking. RISD established the Design for Manufacturing Innovation (DfMI) course, that targeted defense manufacturers to learn how to incorporate a culture of innovation in their companies. Bryant Univesity assembled and offered a Design Thinking Course as a proven problem solving process that offers a unique approach to the world of design and is based on the premise “to fail sooner in order to succeed faster.” The IYRS School of Technology & Trades' Rebeka Mazzone was a student in the DfMI course and view what it meant to her and the IYRS.
